Learn About Double Hung Windows

Double hung windows by Renewal by Andersen are our most versatile window type. They can complement both more modern and historical homes by providing:

  • Strength. Double hung windows stay put whether you open them a little or all the way. They’ll also hold up over time, functioning just as well as the day they were installed.
  • Ease. This window style is made with heavy-duty materials that allow effortless sliding open. They’ll also close easily with a climate-resistant and weatherproof seal.
  • Weatherproof sealant. Fibrex® frames ensure weatherproof closure, and seal out moisture, dust, and even sound.

Renewal by Andersen double hung windows are great in a bedroom, hallway, living room, or any room that would benefit from better ventilation. See how we can manufacture them to fit you.

Cleaning windows doesn’t have to be a chore. Our tilt-wash windows are designed to simplify the process. With the window open, locate the wash assist tabs, slide them down, and tilt the window inward. To clean the upper sash, move the tabs upward and pull the sash toward you. Remember to pull the tabs back before closing. It’s that easy!
